History of Edge Hill University

Edge Hill Univeristy is an English public university noted for its academic mastery and research activity. The university was established in 1885 in Ormskirk, Lancashire. It was the first non-denominational female teacher-training college. The Times Higher Education 2022 has ranked the university between 801 and 1000, 60th in the Complete University Guide 2022, and 70th in The Guardian 2022.

The university comprises three faculties that teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels: Arts, Education, Sciences, and Health and Social Care. According to the Higher Education Statistical Agency, 10,025 undergraduate and 3,535 doctoral students were in the 2019/20 academic year. The Edge Hill campus is situated in Ormskirk, with easy access to Liverpool and Manchester and green spaces, clubs, and cafes nearby. How to apply for Edge Hill University

Undergraduate Courses

  1. Find your course online and consider the entry requirements.
  2. Then, you must apply for an undergraduate degree using the UCAS platform. 
  3. Check that you have all of the necessary supporting papers.
  4. Depending on the course, you may be required to submit additional documentation such as a personal statement, a CV, a portfolio, and/or translation tests.
  5. When you apply, you may be asked to provide two referees who can testify to your academic and/or professional abilities. 
  6. The UG application fee is in line with UCAS fees, which are £20 for one course and £25-£26 for each additional class.
  7. The university will then begin processing your application.

Postgraduate Courses

  1. Find your course online and consider the entry requirements
  2. Some courses will charge a £50 application fee
  3. Complete the online application form and upload your documents
  4. If you are applying for Teacher training, LLB for Graduates or Social Work, you must apply through UCAS.
  5. Check the entry requirements; PG programmes usually require a good honours degree.
